Even if it's only the basics, it really helps connect the various communities and like I said, really can make someone's day. And not only that, also the fact that you don't need to be fluent in order to start getting some of the huge advantages that knowing a second language can bring you. His huge focus on practical language learning, along with the push to acually go out and practice the languages meant that people found themselves empowered to use the language earlier, and get out in the real world and practice.

With over 1 million subscribers, and over million views he's touched so many people, and his legacy lives on through his videos for future aspiring language learners to find and enjoy. Thank you Moses for your contributions to the language learning community, and making the world a better place. Rest in peace. The below is my original post from where I described what all of us could learn from Moses. I've kept it here in its original format. Moses McCormick is a great language learner and polyglot, in this post I share 5 lessons we can all learn from him.

One of the first great inspirational people I found when I was searching for language learning about 2 years ago was Moses McCormick, who uploaded these hour sometimes several long videos that showed him walking around various locations just striking up conversation with people in foreign languages.

Can you imagine going through hours of footage with questionable audio to add English subtitles from all sorts of languages. This is what Moses does though. So even if you speak none of the languages he walks speaks in the videos, you can still follow along the conversation. The first lesson we can learn is that to become successful at anything, including languages, we must be willing to work hard at it.

Note that, hard does not mean 8 hours a day, although you can do that I find that regularity is better than these crazy marathon days. Moses also learns a lot of languages at the same time, which is something I'm not a big fan of , I find that once I'm learning more than 1 I start drifting away and getting distracted from my main goal. Moses, however has obviously found a way to combat this. As can be seen on his YouTube channels he often goes out in the field, which can be anything from a Chinese restaurant to a regular Wall-mart.

The FLR Method is a system that can be completed in a matter of months and guide you to conversational fluency in any language. In fact, this method is the same method that Laoshu uses for every language that he studies. FLR stands for Foreign Language Roadrunning, and The FLR Method is comprised of six steps which combine to ensure that you begin speaking in your target language on the first day of learning. In addition to constant speaking practice, The FLR Method is also comprised of opportunities for you to create your own sentences, practice listening comprehension, conduct short conversations, language translations and more!

With our system, you can actually start speaking your target language in as little as two weeks. Unlike most language courses, the goal with our system is to start talking now. Since this system allows you to start speaking right away with native speakers, you can learn multiple languages fast. You learned your first language the way we teach. While our course material consists of both audio and written language, the audio is where our system shines because it progressively multiplies your learning ability.

Speaking a foreign language with fluency truly means switching channels to another way of thinking. You become a little bit smarter and more mentally flexible. People who expand their horizons are almost always perceived, by others, to be more attractive than those who are always happy with the same-old stuff. By studying a foreign language, you equip yourself with an additional lens through which to view the different actions, thoughts, and world views of other people.
